Horses, Carts and Power Lines

The specific rules governing float design for the parade are quite simple. No motorized floats on the boardwalk, no float wider then 5'-6" or taller then 9'-6" due to overhead wires. In order to give float the desired impact, a design that can be raised and lowered on the fly is necessary.  Build a lower cart, weld steel frame, with an adjustable height boom.  Head of the Horse is ridged foam, collapseable body made from stretch fabric over flat foam ribs.  Some internal ropes keep overall shape.
Having access to the SVA sculpture lab allows me to think about larger projects.  Welding the frame, sculpting the horse is all possible there. Given enough time and a place to store it in the process.
